Agri — Sensors & Telemetry

One supplier. Complete farm coverage.

Rain gauge on the shed. Probes in the soil. Canopy sensor in the orchard. EC inline, water level in the dam, generator in the corner — all reporting to the 4Gee Telemetry Unit, all visible on your phone.

Nobody else in the South African market builds the whole picture. We do, because we design and manufacture every piece ourselves.

Designed here. Built here. Deployed everywhere.

Every Gentick product starts as a PCB layout in our workshop and ends up in a field — in South Africa, across Africa, in Chile, New Zealand, and with our Australian partners since 2021. PCB design, firmware, enclosures, software: all in-house. When you call about a sensor, you're talking to the people who built it.

4Gee Telemetry Unit

The industrial cellphone for your farm.

That's genuinely what it is: a battery-powered, weatherproof, 4G-connected unit that reads your sensors and reports them reliably — designed and built in South Africa for African conditions, proven in Australian ones.

Plays well with the probes you own. Aquacheck, Sentek, Enviropro, Greenshield, Hydrawize, EC-5 Decagon and more connect via RS485/SDI12. Two probes per unit, simultaneously — plus two pulse counters for a rain gauge and a flow meter at the same time.

  • Weatherproof enclosure with rain cover, zinc-plated and powder-coated bracket
  • Swoppable Li-Ion battery packs; room for a second battery; optional solar panel
  • LCD screen that shows a technician everything — probe readings, network connection, packets sent — live, while standing next to the unit
  • High-gain external antenna for thin-signal areas

Smart Rain Gauge

Rainfall data you don't have to walk to.

Our self-tipping rain gauge measures every shower and sends it straight to your phone. No manual emptying, no guesswork, no "how much did you get on your side?" — just accurate rainfall, logged and graphed, farm by farm.

  • Self-tipping mechanism — measures and resets itself, rain after rain
  • On your phone — live readings and full history
  • Connects through the 4Gee Telemetry Unit
  • Built to live outside — designed and manufactured in-house, tested in the field

From R3,500.

Soil Moisture Probe

The root zone, quantified.

Irrigation decisions are easy when you can see what the roots see. Our soil moisture probe measures relative moisture in the critical root zone, so you irrigate when the crop needs it — not when the calendar says so.

  • Quantify irrigation need before the crop shows distress
  • Cut wasteful irrigation without risking yield
  • Protect quality through critical growth stages
  • Trends and alarms on your phone, alongside your rain, EC and canopy data

Works as part of the ecosystem. Pair it with the Inline-EC sensor and a flow meter on the 4Gee, and you're not just watering — you're managing water and fertiliser as one system.

Canopy Sensor

Weather data from inside the crop, not beside it.

A weather station tells you what's happening above the orchard. The Gentick Canopy Sensor tells you what's happening in it: temperature and humidity inside the gill-screen housing, plus an outside temperature — enough to calculate vapour pressure deficit and act on it.

  • Frost warnings in winter, sent before the damage is done
  • Spray-condition alerts when temperatures climb too high
  • Cold and heat unit logging across the season

Inline-EC Sensor

Expensive fertiliser deserves continuous measurement.

One faulty fertigation cycle can set a crop back weeks. The Gentick Inline-EC sensor continuously plots the concentration of salts and fertiliser in your irrigation water — and raises the alarm on your phone before the hair roots pay for it.

  • Continuous EC monitoring in irrigation lines
  • Alarms on excessive EC values, sent to the people who can act
  • Also at home in pump houses, dams and canal networks for water-supply monitoring

Water Level Sensor

Know your water before you need it.

Irrigation timing is one of the biggest calls a farm manager makes, and it starts with one question: how much water do I actually have? Our water level sensor reports dam, reservoir and tank levels straight to your phone — live, logged, and alarmed.

  • Live water levels on your phone
  • History and trends for seasonal planning
  • Low-level alarms before pumps run dry

Montick Generator Monitor

Know your generator is ready — before the power goes.

The Montick-4G watches your existing diesel generator so you don't have to: fuel level, battery voltage, run/stop status, run hours, alarms — reported to the cloud every 7 minutes and pushed to your phone.

  • Works with Cummins, Deepsea, Lovato, SDMO, CAT, Smartgen, ComAp controllers
  • 6–8 wires to connect — any competent generator technician can install it
  • 4G LTE with national-roaming SIM included
  • Push notifications via Telegram — no SMS costs, no missed alerts
  • Optional Voltmon: 3-phase monitoring of council power

One generator or a fleet. Sortable fleet view, fuel and battery graphs, monthly runtime reports — spot the site where run-hours and fuel use don't add up, and the battery charger that's about to fail. Made in Africa for the African environment — and for African load-shedding.
