Every claim on this website traces back to a project: a bottling line in Ghana, a dashboard in a control room, a rain gauge in an Australian paddock. Here's the work.
The challenge. A leading African soft drinks bottler needed to see how its bottling and packaging lines were actually performing — not in monthly reports, but live, comparably, across plants in four countries. Every site measured things slightly differently. Comparing a line in Gqeberha with a line in Maputo meant arguing about definitions before anyone could talk about improvements.
What we did. Gentick engineered and deployed a Line Performance System across 13 sites and 44 production lines. The work ran from the plant floor up: connecting to line PLCs, standardising how stops, speeds and counts are captured, and integrating the data into the bottler's manufacturing execution layer so every plant reports performance the same way.

Discuss your projectThe challenge. The plant had no shortage of data — PLCs, flow meters, tank levels, energy meters, all logging away. What it didn't have was a way for engineers and operators to see it: trends, comparisons, alarms, and the story behind a bad shift, in one place, without licence fees per viewer.
What we did. We built the plant's operational picture in Grafana — open-source, fast, and readable on anything from the control room screen to a phone. Gentick handled the full chain: extracting data from the control layer, structuring it into a time-series database, and designing dashboards around the questions the team actually asks. Blending performance, CIP cycles, water and energy use, line speeds — each one a live view, not a report someone has to compile.
The results.
Why it matters to you. Most SCADA visualisation is expensive, closed, and ugly. Grafana is none of those things — but it takes engineers who understand both the plant floor and the data layer to make it sing. That crossover is what we do.

Operational technology — the PLCs, HMIs and networks that actually run production — was designed for reliability, not for a world where plant networks touch corporate IT and the internet. For a global brewer, the question wasn't whether the plant floor needed securing, but how to do it without stopping production.
What we did. Gentick assessed the OT landscape across the production environment: network architecture, access paths between IT and OT, controller exposure, and the practical risks specific to live manufacturing — prioritising fixes that could be implemented without production downtime.
The results.
Why it matters to you. OT security incidents stop production lines, not just email. We come at this from the controls side — we program the PLCs other people are trying to protect — which makes our assessments practical instead of theoretical.

Australian irrigation consultants needed reliable telemetry hardware that could survive harsh conditions, integrate with the probes their clients already owned, and come from a supplier who answers the phone. Distance was the obvious objection: would hardware designed and built in South Africa hold up — and would the support?
What we did. Since 2021, Gentick has supplied its full sensor lineup to Australian partners Schedule-IT and IrriCheck: the 4Gee Telemetry Unit, rain gauges, soil moisture probes, canopy sensors and more. The 4Gee's compatibility with probes already common in Australia (Sentek, Aquacheck, Enviropro and others) meant partners could upgrade telemetry without replacing what was in the ground.
The results.
